One Coat

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

One Coat is operated by The Byte Quill LLC (Texas, USA), the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

  • Photos you upload and the previews we generate from them.
  • Your color choices — which colors, brands, and accent-wall options you try.
  • Account data: a random device identifier; if you sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook, or X, the name and email they share with us. We never see your passwords.
  • Technical data: IP address (used to prevent abuse of free credits) and basic request logs.
  • Purchases: handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. We receive confirmation of your purchase but never your card number.

How photos are used

Uploaded photos are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your repainted preview, then stored with the result so your render history works and so we can improve the product. We don't use your photos for advertising and we don't sell them — or any of your data — to anyone.

Cookies and local storage

We store a device identifier and session token in your browser's local storage so your credits follow you between visits. We don't use advertising trackers.

Who we share with

Only the processors needed to run the service: Google (AI image processing), Paddle (payments), and our hosting provider (servers and file storage). Each receives only what their role requires.

Retention and deletion

Photos, previews, and account data are kept while your account is active. Email elson@thebytequill.com to request a copy of your data or its deletion — we'll act within 30 days.

Children

One Coat is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes
